Expectations and costs
Prior to any intervention, an initial consultation is conducted to obtain relative information pertaining to the client’s presenting problems or issue of concern. Upon such assessment, an agreed time period, and number of sessions will be made for you, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and reach your goals.
Both client & therapist can decide if they feel comfortable working together. The assessment will be for one hour. This will give the client time to discuss the presenting problem or issue of concern. Also the client has the opportunity to give details of any medication or clinical history. The rules of confidentiality are in place throughout all appointments and sessions (NZAC Code of Ethics). Following the assessment, weekly or fortnightly therapy sessions will be offered as appropriate.
All Sessions will be a therapeutic hour (50 minutes). All sessions are by appointment only. You have the right to stop at any time. In the first session we will determine how I can be of assistance to you.
Individuals: $150 per session (incl. GST) 50 minutes
Couples: $225 per session (incl. GST) 80 minutes
The fee is payable on the day of the appointment (fees can be discussed) and fees are subject to change on an annual basis.

You may be eligible for subsidised counselling through Work & Income if you are already entitled to a benefit or if your income is under a certain level. This can be discussed at the initial consultation.
Text or email reminders are sent one day before the counselling sessions. We ask that you respond to the reminder if you are unable to attend.
If you cannot attend your appointment for any reason, we require 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. A $30 fee will be charged for late cancellation. Please cancel by text (021 0229 9339) or email.
